Looking for work?
What to expect from us
After Health and Friendship, a person’s career is the most important thing in your life. You give us a lot of your trust when we help you in finding the right role and we recognise that trust by treating you as an individual with feelings and not as a number.
You should expect us:
- To return your phone calls as soon as we can and not ignore you.
- To respond to your e-mails as soon as we can and not delete them
- To properly brief you on a role and keep you fully informed on the progress of your application
- To spend the necessary time with you, if we meet, to really find out what is best for you. It is about getting the right job, not the “Wood” job.
- To help you to establish the criteria you will use to ensure that you make an objective decision on your role, not an emotional one.
- To give you feedback after your interview with a client, regardless of whether you are successful or unsuccessful.
- If you get an offer of employment, to help you decide. We will never put pressure on you to accept a role. We will always go back to the criteria you gave us when we met you.
- After you have found a role to regularly keep in touch to see how things are going, even if you found that role through another consultancy. We want you to understand that Wood and Associates will work with you throughout your career and not for “one job only”
And if you feel that we do not deliver on our promises, or our service standard slips, please contact Sylvia Wood, Managing Director on 09 358 2838
What we expect of you and how you can help us too
Is to send a covering letter/email with a CV and not let us guess as to what you want.
Is to be truthful in your dealings with us – whether at your meeting with us or in giving us honest feedback on interviews with clients.
To keep us updated on any change in your circumstances, especially in salary expectations or location.
If applying from overseas, please send a covering letter with your CV and let us know the important things such as:
- Whether you can work in New Zealand, or if you need a work/residency visa.
- If you have a trip planned to New Zealand or if you have already been here.
- If you have relatives here, or anything that makes New Zealand special to you, apart from watching Lord of the Rings or being a Rugby fan.
Please note we are not immigration advisors and cannot give immigration advice.
